KUALA TERENGGANU: A two-year-old girl was killed, while seven others were injured in a collision involving two vehicles on Jalan Felda Belara here on Friday (Dec 26). Kuala Terengganu OCPD Asst Comm Azli Mohd Noor identified the girl as Putri Fredella Al Frida Diandra Mohd Firdaus, believed to have suffered severe injuries to several parts of her body. The crash resulted in injuries to seven victims aged between five months and 50 years, while a two-year-old girl who was seated in the rear passenger seat died at the scene,” he said in a statement on Friday. He added that the child’s body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) for further action, while the seven injured victims were also receiving treatment at the same hospital. "The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.- Bernama

Several motorists have claimed on social media that their vehicles reportedly stalled after refuelling at a petrol station in Sarawak. Its director, Matthew Dominic Barin, said the investigation was initiated after a complaint regarding the incident went viral on social media, with several consumers allegedly affected, reported Bernama. "On Dec 24 at about 2.30pm, a team of four enforcement officers from Sarawak KPDN conducted an inspection at the petrol station following a complaint received from the Sarawak Roads Update Facebook page. He said swift action had been taken by state KPDN against the petrol station involved to ensure compliance with regulations and to protect consumer rights. For a second or subsequent offence, the offender may be fined up to RM250,000 or imprisoned for a period not exceeding five years, or both," he said.

The yield on 10-year Treasury notes dipped 1.3 basis points (bps) from Christmas Eve's early market close and was last at 4.121%. The two-year US Treasury yield, which typically moves in step with interest rate expectations, was down 3.1 bps at 3.479%. A closely watched part of the yield curve, the gap between two- and ten-year yields, last stood at 64.1 bps. An auction of US$44 billion in seven-year notes on Wednesday was in line with investor demand for previous such auctions.
