(Reuters) - Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has undergone successful surgery after he sustained a serious ankle injury in their 3-0 win at Leeds United and he could return to action later this season, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. Elliott, 18, suffered a fracture dislocation after a tackle from Leeds' Pascal Struijk and had to be taken off on a stretcher before he was taken to the hospital. "We were able to reduce the dislocation immediately on the pitch and Harvey had surgery today to repair the fracture and ligaments damaged in the incident. Struijk, who was sent off immediately after, apologised later on Instagram, saying what happened was something he "would never wish on anyone". Elliott responded by saying it was a freak accident and was not worthy of a red card.

There are some big names but we have to turn into a team," Pochettino told a news conference on Tuesday on the eve of their opening Group A game at Club Brugge. There's a feeling that we're (PSG and Chelsea) the two teams to beat but Chelsea are the holders so they're the team to beat especially after strengthening their squad." "We live with the pressure every season, especially when you play for PSG. PSG reached the Champions League semi-finals last season and were runners up in 2020 but have never won Europe's elite club competition. Should they play together, Marquinhos said he had no concerns about how the team would defend.

The Health Minister reminded the Klang Valley citizens to continue complying with the SOPs such as wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance and washing hands regularly despite being fully inoculated. “Following the Prime Minister's announcement, I noticed that many residents in the Klang Valley utilised the recent weekend by bringing their families, including small children, to shopping malls and even picnics at recreational parks. “However, such activities could inevitably lead to crowd gathering and low SOP compliance,” he said on Facebook on Tuesday (Sept 14). “However, to realise this goal, it requires the cooperation of the entire community to continue to comply with the SOPs. “Remember, the success of curbing this pandemic involves the involvement and comprehensive approach of the government and the people,” Khairy added.

(Reuters) - Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss AC Milan’s Champions League opener against Liverpool, coach Stefano Pioli said on Tuesday, due to a knock the Swede sustained after making his return from a four-month injury layoff. But there was some inflammation in his tendon, which can happen after four months out," Pioli told a news conference. The game in Liverpool will be the seven-times European champions' first Champions League outing since the 2013-14 season, and Pioli’s first taste of the group stage as a coach. Our group is very difficult, the opponents are very competitive and they have all played in Europe for some time," Pioli said. It is true that a lot of us have never been in the Champions League, but the pitch is always the pitch.

More than 5.41 billion vaccine shots have been administered worldwide, with 81% in only 10 high and upper middle-income countries. US President Joe Biden expects to launch a campaign for a further 100 million booster shots on Sept 20. On Aug 6, the European Union’s drugs regulator noted there was not enough evidence to recommend Covid-19 vaccine boosters. Covax aimed to deliver a billion vaccine doses in 2021, but had delivered only 217 million by August, according to Unicef. Ironically, the Serum Institute of India has the world’s largest vaccine production capacity by far, but it is largely underutilised for Covid-19 vaccines.

KUALA LUMPUR: The revised criteria for the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme adds an additional layer of protection for national security purposes, says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin. He said the procedure for new participants of the MM2H programme had stricter measures for security purposes. "Some of them are disguising as the MM2H participants, but they are actually using it as a 'transit' to carry out unwanted activities, in terms of security. "That is why focus was given to security for the MM2H programme. "From the total, 27,894 are from the MM2H programme, while there are 6,423 initial 'silver hair' participants," he said.

I agree with Jalbir Singh that the Goods and Services Tax is a more efficient tax system than the Sales and Services Tax (SST). Under normal business circumstances, input tax credits are refunded by the Inland Authority of Singapore to businesses who export goods. This was a drastic move since it effectively shifts the burden of auditing GST-registered suppliers to GST-registered businesses. > Input tax will be denied if “you knew or should have known to be part of an arrangement to cause loss of public revenue”. Failing to do so means the Tax Authority can deny input tax claims.

Founded by veterans of New York media, Puck News is led by Chief Executive Officer Joe Purzycki and editor-in-chief Jon Kelly. But Kelly and Purzycki stress the company isn’t about a charismatic founder like Vice’s Shane Smith, but its star talent. Kelly has recruited a handful of influential writers to write newsletters and serve as founding partners in his new venture. The whole venture is a bet on two concepts gaining a lot of currency in media circles: that journalism shouldn’t be free, and that journalists need to be more like social media influencers. “There is an elite group of journalists who want to be long-form writers, column writers, newsletters writers and want to have a direct connection with the large audiences they’ve amassed on social channels,” Kelly said.

Earlier, NFO outlets were ordered to close temporarily following the implementation of the third Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0) on June 1. Analysts said the reopening of NFOs outlets in mid-September is in line with their expectations and is expected to lift sentiment on gaming stocks. “Based on observations in past MCOs, we expect NFO sales to recover gradually at first and then swiftly rebound to 60%-70%/80%-85% of pre-pandemic levels after just 0.5/one month post-reopening (by end-September/mid-October). Hence, we see Magnum and BToto both posting core net losses for 3QCY21 before returning to the black in 4QCY21,” they said. Lam and Foong also reiterated their “overweight” call on the gaming sector, with the key potential rerating catalyst for the sector being a full NFO sales recovery towards end-CY21.

MALAYSIA should only move to the endemic phase when the number of Covid-19 cases see a significant drop. “While the vaccine can help protect us from Covid-19, including reducing its severity, we still need to play our role to break the chain of infection,” he said. “It may take some time before we are able to live with Covid-19 in the long run,” he said. Meanwhile, Johor Baru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Low Kueck Shin pointed out that the number of cases was still high. Khairy noted that being in an endemic phase would see more sectors reopened with new Covid-19 norms being practised.
