MONROVIA — In an effort to boost maternal health in the country, a non-for-profit charity organization, Life for African Mothers (LFAM) has boosted the country’s maternal health by distributing over US$250,000 worth of assorted medication free-of-charge around Monrovia and its environs. According to him, LFAM is also has been working in eight of the 15 counties of Liberia training midwives and also providing needed maternal medication for less fortunate mothers and their babies. The LFAM Country Rep. further disclosed that health centers benefitting from the medication include: Redemption Hospital, James David Memorial Hospital, Duport Road Health Center and other surrounding health centers around the country. Gorman indicated that since 2008, she been ensuring that mothers and babies in Cameroon, received affordable maternal healthcare. Meanwhile, the LFAM Country Representative noted that these recent medication brought in country are essential for maternal health.

According to LNBCC’s Project Officer, Tracy Kollie, the three-day training was meant to prepare entrepreneurs in Liberia to meet the criteria of business in the Netherlands as a mean of promoting trade between the two countries. Multiple attempts to get comments from Minister Diggs did not materialize. “We have been contacted by several businesses that they are not getting IPDs to import their frozen foods and that is true. but she is the Minister and nothing we can do about,” one of the ministers at the Commerce Ministry told FrontPageAfrica when contacted for comments. Monrovia — Popular Liberian talkshow host Prophet Key has denied being deported from Morocco, terming the allegations as “an irresponsible lie”. Costa posted: “The Moroccan government, a few weeks ago, ordered Prophet Key to leave their country or face deportation. Prophet Key claimed that Costa has developed envy for him since he began his talkshow via social media. Taking photos in front the Pentagon doesn’t necessarily mean you had a meeting in the Pentagon,” Prophet Key said. EAST International is implementing the construction of a 45km 4-lane ELWA–RIA Road costing up to US$101m. According to him, all equipment needed for the first phase of the project have been procured and the work has started. Mr. Toney also informed this paper that what stands as a major challenge for the project is the Junk River which he said is 110 meters. The framework calls for the project to be executed into three lots which include: 1) from Roberts International Airport to Junk River Bridge; 2) from Junk River Bridge to ELWA junction and; 3) the construction of the Junk River Bridge and the upgrading of the existing bridge. The new road, when completed, will have a toll location, which is the Junk River Bridge.”The RIA road is a project that is long overdue because of the safety hazards presented by its narrowness and darkness.
