The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has denied reports that it is in talks with President William Ruto to form the government of National Unity. He went on to say that any member of ODM who wants to join President Ruto's cabinet will be doing that without the approval and support of the party. "As a Party, we wish to make it unequivocally clear that we are not in negotiations with the Ruto regime for any coalition or political arrangement," Sifuna said. Sifuna said a narrative has been created to make it look like ODM is desperate to join the government. At least two people were Tuesday morning killed in an accident involving multiple vehicles along the Southern Bypass, in Nairobi. Three others were seriously injured in the Tuesday 6.30 am accident that happened near Ole Sereni area, police said. The accident happened after the driver of a lorry moving from the Kikuyu direction lost its control, veered off his lane and crossed to the opposite one colliding with a trailer. Witnesses said the impact also affected three other vehicles that were behind the trailer that was headed for Kikuyu direction. “We are investigating how and why it happened,” said Dr Onyango.

Nairobi City County has launched an ambitious initiative to construct new social halls across the county. Talents, Skills Development and Social Care executive Rosemary Kariuki announced that the county plans to build four new social halls. Less than 37% of Africans believe democracy works in their countries, according to a new survey. Support for democracy in South Africa and Mali drastically went down this year compared to 39 African countries, according to a new Afrobarometer survey. On average, trust in democracy decreased by seven percentage points in the last decade but "by 29 points in South Africa and 23 points in Mali", the report said. A decade ago, the survey recorded 72% of South Africans and 62% of Malians said democracy "is preferable to any other kind of government". Preference for democracy now falls short of a majority opinion in five countries - Mali, South Africa, Angola (47%), Mozambique (49%), and Lesotho (49%).
