Security partnershipThis followed a 12-week training by British Marines from Commando Royal Marines which majored in physical fitness and amphibious assaults. It marked the beginning of a self-sustaining training cycle, whereby the Kenyan Navy would eventually be able to train their own Marine Commandos.

Police officers in Bungoma town have conducted a raid and apprehended two suspects in a house in the Kanduyi area with packages of marijuana. The police said they managed to arrest the notorious suspects after a tip-off from residents. They further said that one of the suspects is a businesswoman in Bungoma town. The Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) has decried increased illegal gambling both online and land-based. In a presentation to the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security, the board said illegal gambling has been on the rise on offshore websites and slot machines.
