Jon Rahm’s Ryder Cup future is in serious doubt after the Spaniard failed to join his teammate Tyrrell Hatton in settling a dispute over a seven-figure fine with the European Tour Group over participation in LIV Golf. Hatton joined Laurie Canter, Tom McKibbin, Thomas Detry, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, Elvis Smylie and David Puig in reaching agreement with the European Tour Group. Should Rahm lose – and precedent suggests he will – he would be in default and facing suspension from the Ryder Cup. Rahm, a key part of Europe’s past four Ryder Cup teams, has yet to comment on the situation. “We went really hard on the Americans about being paid to play the Ryder Cup,” he said of events at the 2025 event.

John also revealed that while the show very much involved putting yourself out there, he wasn't paid a penny for his time and didn't even get to enjoy the seemingly slap-up meal on his date. After being lucky enough to bag a date with single girl Kerry, John was then flown to the Isle of Fernando's the very next day. 'I had to be up at 5am the next morning to film my date - I couldn't remember the girl's name! And then we went out for dinner - but you don’t actually get to eat any of the food. Yes, because there were two twins on the show, and I think it would have been really, really good TV.'

'He's red hot' - Everton starlet Braiden Graham praised again as goals keep comingThe teenager's reputation has exploded through a season laden with goals in the academy and call-ups for the first team‌Everton prospect Braiden Graham received more praise this week with Under-21s manager Paul Tait heralding his “red hot” form. ‌The Northern Ireland youth international has 17 goals across 24 appearances so far this campaign. He has made that step up with apparent ease this season, scoring 13 of his goals for Tait. Graham had scored in the wins over Millwall and West Ham United in the previous rounds. He’s added consistency this season - he’s scored throughout but he’s red hot at the moment in terms of his goals.

I saw a headline saying Ireland is bringing in tough new social media laws. The Cabinet approved a new digital and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy on Wednesday but fell short of introducing legislation here restricting social media access for under-16s. [ Should we ban social media for under-16s? The Coalition is still working with partners on proposals for age verification, which could ultimately restrict some social media content for that age cohort. In January, France’s National Assembly approved legislation to ban children under 15 from social media amid growing concerns about online bullying and mental health risks.

Brighton mark James Milner’s record-breaking appearance with win at BrentfordBy George Sessions, Press AssociationBrighton marked James Milner’s record-breaking 654th Premier League appearance with a much-needed 2-0 win at Brentford. The pressure had mounted on Seagulls boss Fabian Hurzeler after a run of one league win in 13 and he again turned to veteran midfielder Milner in attempt to arrest a worrying run of results. Milner’s inclusion meant he moved past Gareth Barry’s previous record of 653 appearances in the competition and it proved an occasion to remember all round for Brighton after first-half goals by Diego Gomez and Danny Welbeck. Gomez scored in the 30th minute to end the visitors’ three-match run without a goal and Brentford captain Nathan Collins was at fault when Welbeck made it 2-0. Collins’ poor clearance allowed Welbeck to fire home for his 10th goal this season before Milner’s special afternoon concluded in the 90th minute with a round of applause from both sets of supporters at Gtech Community Stadium.

A Fraser Dingwall try just before half-time had put England on the scoreboard but any lift for the home side was extinguished by a Dan Sheehan try after the interval. Ireland did not have it all their own way in the opening skirmishes as England rolled through the phases and got over the gainline with almost every carry. From there, Ireland moved towards the left corner and won a penalty at a ruck after Tommy Freeman planted his hands on the deck. Crowley missed the conversion but Ireland gained in another way, England full-back Freddie Steward yellow carded for playing scrum-half Gibson-Park behind a ruck in the build-up to the try. It certainly settled any nerves that the English try had brought on as Crowley converted for a 29-7 lead on 43 minutes.

This hard-fought victory, however, shifted the pressure back on to Gers and Celtic, both of whom must now play catch-up on Sunday. Derek McInnes made two changes to the Hearts side that started last Sunday's 4-2 defeat at Rangers, with Beni Baningime and Oisin McEntee dropping out through injury. The leaders, having looked nervy for most of the first half, got themselves in front in the 45th minute. The Jambos almost doubled their lead seconds after the interval when Braga drilled agonisingly wide and the Portuguese forward threatened again when he had a ferocious shot pushed wide by Bain. Kyziridis was also denied twice by the Falkirk keeper in the closing stages as the Jambos closed out a much-needed victory to reassert themselves at the top.
