According to Dr Kojo Asante, Director of Advocacy and Policy Engagement, CDD-Ghana, Lt. Col. Agyeman’s appointment is shrouded with mystery. He told Joy FM that the reassignment of the officer after the National Security statement indicating his dismissal was not the appropriate action any institution should take. “The secondment of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman at the Ministry has been reversed. The officer is to report to the Chief of Defence Staff for further investigation and appropriate action,” National Security’s letter communicated.

“The mother, in her narration, said on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at about 9:20 am, one Maame Nyarkoa inflicted wounds on her daughter’s face with a mosquito coil stand,” DSP Effia Tenge told GNA. The Police said the victim’s mother informed them that the suspect had accused her of going out with her boyfriend hence the attack on the daughter. DSP Tenge said the Police visited the Aneeja Hospital at Tantra Hills after the complaint, where Priscilla was admitted. Personnel from the police service found her with a plastered face responding to treatment and took her statement. The police said the suspect is currently at large adding that efforts are underway to get her for questioning.

The Motor Vessel (MV) Atlantic Princess was said to have been abducted 70 nautical miles south of Tema in the early hours of last Thursday, May 20, 2021. It is common knowledge by seafarers that pirates operate under the guise of a mother ship, which carries smaller high speeding crafts that are deployed to attack targets by surprise. However, the MV Atlantic Princess crew failed to post the lookout for personnel when they were heading to sea. Reports say the armed gang got access to the vessel, sorted the expatriate crew from the Ghanaian counterparts, took the former in their skiffs and at top speed, chartered course eastwards on the open sea. Meanwhile, the armed gangsters disconnected all the communication systems onboard the orphaned vessel.

Leticia Kyere Pinaman, a student of the Miracle JHS at Baakoniaba, a suburb of Sunyani was on Monday May 17, 2020 found dead, hanging in the dining hall. The family have since the incident expressed dismay and averred that she was murdered contrary to the school's account that she committed suicide. Father of the deceased, Williams Kyere in an interaction with the Ghana News Agency monitored by GhanaWeb stressed that the one-week memorial was unnecessary as they were patiently waiting on the Police autopsy to ascertain the death of their daughter. The GNA at the time of filing this report observed some relatives and friends of the deceased arriving at the family home of Leticia Kyere to mourn with the bereaved family. Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service is continuing investigations into the incident.
