A statement released to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated that on Sunday, February 8, 2026, a team of RPID officers led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Maxwell Osafo Adamu, intercepted a Hyundai Kia Rhino truck with registration number GS477-17, which was transporting building materials and concealed ammunition including a locally manufactured single barrel short gun and 21 boxes of 525 pieces of Lion AAA and BB ammunition. The suspects, Abubakari Salam Atta, 35-year-old and Kabuja Kwadwo Taademe, 19-year-old, attempted to bribe the officers to secure their release, but the police team stood firm and rejected the offer. The suspects have been detained and are assisting with investigations; the successful operations highlight the professionalism and integrity of the Oti RPID team.
