Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has said. The FAO Food Price Index averaged 120.8 points in July, marginally down from June's revised 121.0 figure. The FAO food price index is a trade-weighted index that tracks international market prices of five major food commodity groups. The cereal price index dropped 3.8 percent month-on-month with export prices of all major cereals going down for the second consecutive month. The price index for sugar rose 0.7 percent while for dairy was stable in July compared to the prior month.

KUWAIT CITY Aug 3: In response to a recent circular issued by the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor, the Union of Domestic Workers Recruitment Offices in Kuwait has submitted an official protest, reports Al-Jarida daily. The circular set the monthly salaries for Addis Ababa workers arriving in Kuwait at 120 dinars for experienced women and 110 dinars for those who don’t have any experience. It also established a commission of $1,300 (approximately 400 dinars) to be paid by Kuwaiti offices for each worker. He also noted that it incentivizes foreign offices to send workers to neighboring countries instead of Kuwait.
