The wild animals we see today have been around for thousands of years and played important roles in some of the most famous ancient civilizations. “Ancient Egyptians considered wild animals to be great natural forces, many of which had to do with gods,” says Salima Ikram, professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo. In the early ages of the Egyptian civilization, around 4000 BC, many wild animals that later migrated to central and southern Africa thrived in and around Egypt. They did not hunt animals as much as we do today, as many animals had important roles in society. According to Salima Ikram, giraffes did not appear often in Egyptian mythology, but they were considered "forecasting" animals because their long necks could see the future.

Egyptian airports have made a great achievement on the level of the African continent in passenger traffic and air cargo, as Cairo International Airport and two other Egyptian airports topped the list issued by the Airports Council International (ACI) for the first ten African airports in terms of passenger traffic in 2021. CAIRO – 4 August 2022: The Cabinet approved Thursday a contract between the Ministry of Health and Population, and Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives to process the plasma collected at the designated public facilities. The center is an integrated complex that includes a plasma donation center, a laboratory for testing plasma samples, and a training center affiliated with the Grifols training academy, the statement read. In mid-July, the minister announced a national project to establish blood plasma donation centers for medicine production as a part of a presidential initiative to achieve self-sufficiency in plasma derivatives. Other plasma donation venues include the regional blood transfusion centers in Cairo’s Dar El-Salam and Abbasiya districts, Alexandria, Gharbiya and Minya. Healthy adults over the age of 18 may donate their blood plasma if they had not donated within the last three months.

Egyptian State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsy and Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawi attended Thursday the signing of a joint contract, involving the two ministries and Passengers Transport General Authority in AlexandriaAlexandria Governor Mohamed el Sherif was present during the signing ceremony. Morsy said the ministry will produce the first ever electric bus through the Military Factory 200 in cooperation with MCV transport industry company. The minister said climate change issue tops all challenges facing the world at present. In turn, Shaarawi said the contract is completing a joint contract, which has recently been signed involving the two ministries and the authority in Alexandria to buy 70 electric buses with investments, estimated at about 323 million Egyptian pounds.

CAIRO – 4 August 2022: The Egyptian government directed about 306.8 billion pounds in total targeted investments to the transport sector in the year of the 22/23 plan, compared to 240.7 billion pounds in the previous fiscal year. This was according to the document of the economic and social development plan submitted by the Minister of Planning Dr. Hala Al-Saeed and approved by both houses of the Parliament. The total cost of the project is about 159.7 billion pounds. Another project is the electric train ( Adly Mansour / Tenth of Ramadan / New Administrative Capital), with a total cost of about 50.8 billion pounds. The total number of projects targeted to be completed in the 2022/23 plan amounted to about 29 projects distributed by 11 projects, targeted to be completed with a length of 216 km.

Hossam Hosny added that the treatment using the blood plasma of the recovered was stopped, according to the updated treatment protocol to confront Corona. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar added, doctors will be trained in the treatment protocol for the Corona virus, diagnosing various mutants of the virus. He also praised the Egyptian treatment protocol for the Corona virus, which contributed a lot to raising the levels of recovery at isolation hospitals since the spread of the Corona virus pandemic.

(Reuters) - Semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) will be used in the Champions League this season after being introduced for next week's UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, European soccer's governing body said on Wednesday. The system, which uses special cameras that will track body points on players, will be used for the Super Cup in Helsinki and then from the Champions League group stage. UEFA said the new system will operate with special cameras that track 29 different body points per player, with a total of 188 tests performed since 2020, including all games from last season's Champions League, the knockout stage of the Women's Champions League and the women's Euros. "The system is ready to be used in official matches and implemented at each Champions League venue," Rosetti said. The Super Cup game takes place on Aug. 10, with English referee Michael Oliver appointed as the on-field official.

The navigation statistics in the Suez Canal made new records during July , achieving the highest monthly transit rate in the history of the canal, the head of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie announced on Tuesday. The transit rate amounted to 2,103 ships, and the highest monthly net tonnage in the history of the canal was 125.1 million tons, reflected in the increase in the canal’s revenues to record the highest monthly revenue in its history, at $704 million. The total net tonnages amounted to 125.1 million tons during July 2022 compared to 105.8 million tons during July 2021, an increase of 19.3 million tons or 18.2 percent. The number of liquefied natural gas tankers increased by 31 percent, achieving the highest monthly revenue for liquefied natural gas tankers in the history of the canal, at $52 million, while bulk vessels increased by 21 percent achieving the highest monthly revenue for bulk vessels in the history of the canal, at $121 million. The transit rates of container ships crossing the canal increased by 8.8 percent, achieving the second highest monthly revenue of $314 million.

CAIRO – 1 August 2022: The Egyptian Authorities confirmed Monday that Rafah Border Crossing is still open in both directions for the entry of passengers, and aid to Gaza Strip. Around a year ago, 11 days of Israeli aggression on the Gaza enclave left dozens of deaths, damaged and demolished countless houses, left tens of thousands of Palestinians homeless, and destroyed scores of businesses. Late last year, the committee announced launching the second phase of reconstructing the destroyed places in the strip. The second phase plan was announced in a conference held at al-Mashtal hotel in the strip, in the presence of representatives of the Palestinian government and factional delegations. Sarhan said on Monday that the Egyptian housing projects in the enclave are expected to be completed next year.

A total of 315 Egyptian companies applied to participate in the construction of the local component of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant, Amgad El-Wakeel, Chairperson of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA), told Daily News Egypt. He explained that the main contractor for the nuclear project, Atomstroyexport, is responsible for selecting subcontractors. The equipment to be used in the construction will be supplied by Egyptian companies, and there are local companies that have concluded agreements with Russian and international counterparts to partake in the project. Some Egyptian companies also participate in building the infrastructure of the nuclear plant. The total capacity of the nuclear power plant is about 4800 MW, and it includes four reactors of a capacity of 1200 MW each.
