The sources added that they are awaiting the results of the promotional tour conducted by the managers of The United Bank offering to resume the procedures for offering Banque du Caire again, in addition to the offers of investors and the final evaluation of the sale of the bank. Chairperson of Banque Misr, Mohamed El-Etreby, said at the time that the deal to return the ownership of Banque du Caire to Banque Misr in a deal worth EGP 7bn is merely a restructuring of Banque du Caire’s ownership to be under Banque Misr instead of Misr Capital for Investments. Aug 19 (Reuters) - Turkish Super League champions Galatasaray have signed Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea on loan, with the option of buying him later, the club said on Saturday. Galatasaray will pay Ziyech 3.6 million euros for the 2023-2024 season and 2.9 million euros for the 2024-2025 season if he transfers to the club on a permanent basis. Galatasaray won a record 23rd league title in May and their first since the 2018-19 season. Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar participated on Saturday in the “Medicine Sector” session within the activities of the Health Working Group meetings of the Group of 20, held from 18 to 19 August, in India. Abdel Ghaffar stressed the urgent need to ensure the right to health for all, as the pharmaceutical sector plays a pivotal role in global health, explaining the importance of strengthening cooperation in this field to ensure the well-being of societies. He pointed out that the coronavirus pandemic showed the importance of a strong and resilient pharmaceutical sector, as that crisis highlighted weaknesses in healthcare systems, and exposed health systems’ gaps in preparing to confront pandemics. The Minister of Health and Population reviewed Egypt’s experience over the past years in promoting local production of medicines and vital medical products, which was a basic pillar of the national health agenda. Karim Ghoneim, Chairperson of KMG EGYPT and Head of the Digital Economy and Technology Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, has said that his company will start manufacturing smart watches and mobile phones in the company’s factory in the industrial zone in Sadat City, Menoufeya. He told Daily News Egypt that the company agreed with an Indian company to manufacture the latter’s products of smart watches and mobile accessories locally, and also agreed with another Indian company to manufacture its products of feature and smart mobile phones in the same factory. Last August, Etisal for Advanced Industries (EAI) announced that it signed an agreement with HMD, which owns Nokia, to manufacture about one million phones annually in the Egyptian market. In September 2022, the Chinese company OPPO announced its intention to establish a mobile factory in Egypt with investments of $30m and a production capacity of 4.5 million phones annually. It is planned that the establishment of the factory will begin in the last quarter of this year, through which modern versions of mobile devices manufactured by Samsung will be produced locally.

Participating as a main speaker in the “Climate Financing and Biodiversity Financing” session, Fouad highlighted the importance of the upcoming event of COP 28 in ensuring the mobilization of $20 billion financing for the Biodiversity Fund and not just focusing on obtaining $100 billion dollars in climate finance. Douma had been accused of committing acts of violence, assaulting police officers and setting fire to buildings of the Cabinet, the former People's Assembly and the Shura Council, in addition to the Scientific Academy in December 2011.

The new coronavirus subvariant, EG.5, has grabbed the interest of the world and the WHO, after increasing in Europe over the past weeks. The EG.5, a subvariant of the Omicron lineage, raised concerns after increasing globally to constitute 17.4 percent of the coronavirus cases by the end of July up from only 7.6 percent a month earlier. The world fears that the subvariant can become dominant around the world, causing an increase in the cases of coronavirus, only a few months after the WHO declared an end to COVID-19 as a public health emergency.

The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir held a meeting with the delegation of the Russian Novostal-M company working in the rebar industry. Samir explained that Novostal-M plans to establish a steel factory in Egypt and supply minerals for Egyptian projects, establish infrastructure for food warehouses, cooperate in the field of construction, and export nitrogen and fertilizers from Egypt to African countries. Samir added the company will contribute to increasing Egyptian exports of citrus and urea, which will be transported by the Russian company. Demchenko added that his company owns two factories in Russia and exports its products. The company exports 90 percent of its products and has several partners in Egypt, he said, pointing out that the company’s production of reinforcing steel amounts to about 2.8 million tons annually, exported to 60 countries.
