The Americanism Committee of the Legion Auxiliary presented flags to Beatrice Public Schools to be used in the new elementary building on Tuesday afternoon. About $1,500 in flags were donated for each of the classrooms, the media centers, the gymnasium and the flag poles. It helps us remember the people that have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.”Administrator Missy Timmerman said the school wanted this to be a community building. “It’s a new generation coming up and I’m happy we could donate.”Several families donated funds to the Auxiliary in memory and to honor a loved one. I’m excited and I wanted to support it.”The Auxiliary will also be handing out flags during the Homestead Day Parade on June 22.
Barishal-6 MP Abdul Hafiz Mallik has appeared before the Election Commission and apologised unconditionally for publicly displaying his ballot during the Upazila Parishad election. EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that he appeared in response to the summons on Wednesday and expressed his regret.
