Our Legal CorrespondentNew Delhi : Kerala High Court lawyers on Monday voiced their "deep concern" over the Union government's delay in clearing Uttarakhand Chief Justice K.M. Joseph's elevation to the Supreme Court, saying wrong signals were being sent to the judiciary and judges with an independent mind. The Supreme Court collegium had cleared for elevation Justice Joseph's name on January 10 along with that of senior advocate Indu Malhotra. But the Centre has not yet cleared the files related to either the Uttarakhand High Court judge or the advocate. "We, the members of the Kerala High Court Advocates Association, unanimously express our deep concern and anxiety over the delay...," the resolution added.
