By Selma Lomax, [email protected]Madam Moye was controversially certificated Friday following an on-boarding training, despite not being named by President Joseph Boakai two days ago. Madam Moye’s appointment has sparked a debate in Bong County, considering how the senator is preferring his close allies to lucrative positions in the Boakai administration. Considering how prominent personalities in Bong County played an integral role in the campaign of the Boakai – Jeremiah Koung ticket, some have expressed disappoinment in Moye for favoring his allies in the government. The likes of former Bong County senator Franklin Siakor, Dr. Alfredson Taikerweah, Dr. Ranney Banama Jackson, former Bong County senator Selena Polson Mappy, who’s also the Women’s Wing Chair of Unity Party, are still not being named in Boakai’s administration despite campaigning for the Unity Party.

For many political observers, Vice President Koung’s recent overtures appear to be overshadowing President Boakai. Dzata is the name written on the plane which VP Koung accompanied Mahama to Accra. Even more troubling for the vice president and his advisors is the lack of attention to the details of his travels. For now, VP Koung appears to be amassing immense influence and power with an eye on the 2029 Presidential elections.

Konneh and Francis Dorpoh II, respectively. The Senators believed that given the importance of transparency in the amended and restatement of the Public Financial Management Act of 2009 and the effective utilization of financing instruments in fostering national development and progress, there was a need for the Liberian Senate to launch an inquiry into the status of the various financing agreements. By Taz AliUkrainian forces have destroyed a large Russian landing ship in the Black Sea off the coast of occupied Crimea, Kyiv’s military said. Ukraine’s main directorate of intelligence (GUR) published a video on Wednesday of what it said was the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Caesar Kunikov – also spelt Tsezar Kunikov – burning and sinking a few miles off Alupka on the southern tip of Crimea. There was no immediate comment from Russia, which said earlier that it had destroyed six drones in the Black Sea. If confirmed, it would be another embarrassing blow for the Russian Black Sea fleet and a significant success for Ukraine 10 days before the second anniversary of the war. Earlier this month, the GUR claimed to have destroyed Russia’s Ivanovets missile boat in the Black Sea, and in December, Ukrainian cruise missiles struck another large Russian landing warship in Crimea.

This article analyzed development diplomacy and its impact on President Boakai’s socio-economic development, categorizing all aspects of development diplomacy, Liberia’s international relations and foreign policy. Development diplomacy, in order to function in practice as a part of new public diplomacy, should preferably be assisted by other public diplomacy instruments. To be sustainable, development diplomacy needs not yield a result or deal at a particular time if all sides do not perceive gain from development diplomacy, in order to function in practice as a part of new public diplomacy, should preferably be assisted by other public diplomacy instruments. Firstly, it endeavors to define the concept of development diplomacy (that is, diplomacy done through development aid) as a part of public diplomacy that realizes its aims, thanks to soft power re-sources. For instance, since the inception of development diplomacy across the globe, the modern ‘development’ exertion has been an instrument of public diplomacy and soft power.

WASHINGTON – The US House of Representatives on Tuesday voted 214-213 to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for allegedly failing to enforce immigration law at the country’s southern border. “Next to a declaration of war, impeachment is arguably the most serious authority given to the House and we have treated this matter accordingly,” he said. However, critics say a House impeachment probe into Mayorkas failed to find any evidence of “high crimes and misdemeanors,” which is the standard for impeachment, saying the move is purely political. This is only the second time in nearly 250 years of US history that a Cabinet official has been impeached, the first being Secretary of War William Belknap in 1876. “History will not look kindly on House Republicans for their blatant act of unconstitutional partisanship,” said President Joe Biden after the vote.
