A spokesperson for Inspiring Futures Education confirmed to this paper that Bishopstrow was closing. According to the letter, the reason behind the decision was the “ongoing challenging market environment” created by the imposition of VAT on independent schools. The imposition of the tax has led repeated outcries from trade body chiefs representing private schools. "The loss of any independent school has a huge impact: for local employment, businesses and, most importantly, families. "Local authorities and schools commonly support children and parents in these circumstances, we are confident in local state schools' ability to accommodate new pupils.”

He is still a Nobel Prize-winning physicist, but now, according to the government of the Netherlands, he is no longer Dutch. He said he was informed that he was no longer a Dutch citizen and must hand his passport over at the embassy in London or face consequences from Interpol, because the Netherlands sharply restricts dual citizenship. “Personally, I consider myself a Dutch-British Nobel Prize winner (in this order),” he said in an email. “The history and my time living and working in the Netherlands are very close to my heart.”

In response to the escalating challenges posed by AI power spikes, Hitachi Energy suggests implementing more robust and secure AI systems with enhanced safeguards and greater human oversight. This approach aims to minimize the risk of unforeseen events that could lead to energy instability. Moreover, integrating human expertise with AI's capabilities could provide a balanced system, ensuring that AI can address complex energy management tasks while humans offer oversight to preempt potential issues. The growing electricity consumption from AI server farms and related technologies further strains existing energy infrastructures, making it imperative for the industry to adopt energy-efficient technologies and infrastructure. This trend necessitates strategic planning, as underscored in reports from [The Times](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/data-centres-risk-blackouts-as-power-grid-struggles-to-cope-l2z8wrgln) and [The Wall Street Journal](https://www.wsj.com/articles/california-struggles-to-keep-the-lights-on-in-the-digital-age-11654264800), to prevent further instability.
