‘Swept away’: One missing after Lake Wakatipu rescue goes wrong, one rescued

Helicopters are circling the shore of the lake near the Glenorchy township at the head of the lake, about 45 minutes drive north from Queenstown. A worker at a store in the town said he had heard from several locals that two people have been swept away. A Heli Otago spokesman said one of its rescue helicopters had been deployed but he could not comment further at this stage.
