Mona McSharry of Team Ireland on her way to 3rd place in the women's 200m breaststroke heat at the Paris La Défense Arena this morning. Photo: Ian MacNicol/SportsfileIt was around 4.30am on Tuesday morning before Mona McSharry finally got into her bed in the Olympic village but her mind was still racing. Winning an Olympic bronze medal and standing on the podium are not easy moments to shake just because sleep is required. This morning McSharry qualified for tonight’s semi-final of the 200m breaststroke after finishing third in her heat in 2:23.98, which was her third-fastest time over this distance. Did McSharry think Chinese swimmers should be allowed to compete in these Olympics?
