PUTRAJAYA (Sept 1): New Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin intends to adopt a circular economy while she helms the ministry, focusing on reproducing and recycling commodities’ waste into something more marketable. She was present here today for the handing over of notes from former plantation industries and commodities minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali. Zuraida noted that currently, the industry contributes about 12% or almost RM100 billion to the country’s revenue. Lastly, she plans to work with Indonesia as a team against the European Union's (EU) discrimination against palm oil. “I really hope that together with the people in the ministry, we can work hard to make the MPIC a dynamic ministry, thus contributing to nation-building and the economy.
