On Tuesday, July 1 the community at St Joseph’s Catholic High School, Workington, will come together to celebrate the life of one of their own, Roick Curtis, by hosting the school's first-ever ‘colour run’ and raising funds for a charity close to their hearts: the Calvert Trust. Roick, a much-loved student known for his energy, warmth and fun-loving spirit, sadly passed away in February 2025. In honour of his memory, the school wanted to mark the occasion in a way that reflected who Roick truly was – joyful, active, and full of life. “What better way to celebrate Roick than with a colour run?” said headteacher Ian Nevitt. Speaking at the time of his death Mr Nevitt said it was ' impossible to express the impact' that Roick had on the school community at St Joseph's.
