The TNZ Apparel factory in Gazipur has reopened after a 23-day shutdown triggered by worker unrest over unpaid wages and allowances. Workers returned to their jobs on Saturday morning, said Bason Police Station chief Md Rahedul Islam. Workers had staged multiple demonstrations, including blocking the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway for three consecutive days, from Nov 9 to Nov 11. Following the payment on Thursday, a notice was issued informing workers that the factories would reopen on Saturday. Adhering to the instructions, workers returned to work as scheduled.
