The Wild struggled to keep the puck out of their net last season — especially shorthanded — but Yakov Trenin could help remedy those issues. Trenin is joining the Wild on a four-year, $14 million contract after previously playing for Wild coach John Hynes when both were with Nashville. The 30-year-old has skated in 296 NHL games with Washington, Toronto, Vancouver and Arizona and has 57 goals. The 29-year-old former Maine Black Bear has 51 goals in 443 career NHL games for Dallas, Anaheim, Columbus, Edmonton and Seattle. *Goalie Troy Grosenick, a 34-year-old AHL veteran who has played in four NHL games (with San Jose and Los Angeles).
