Whatever you think of Leo Molloy – this assault charge against a Police Officer reeks of abuse of power

Leo Molloy appeared briefly at the Auckland District Court this morning where his lawyer, Quentin Duff, said his client’s application for name suppression would not be pursued. Molloy has been charged with assaulting a police officer and intentionally obstructing another officer after an incident at a bar on July 15. But does it honestly ring true that Leo, all five foot four nothing of him would actually assault a Police Officer and obstruct another? This reeks of abuse of power and I’ve seen enough trumped up charges by cops to not trust them as far as I can throw them.
