BACOLOD CITY — Residents of La Castellana, Negros Occidental, have another hurdle to face following the eruption of Mt. The Department of Health (DOH) has found concentrations of coliform bacteria in at least 13 water sources in the town that is closest to the volcano. The DOH also chlorinated water sources and disseminated information to educate the public on proper handwashing and cleanliness. Kanlaon’s explosion on June 3 initially caused 4,000 La Castellana residents to evacuate, but most of them were allowed to return home last week.
