The Rose and Crown, on East Street, closed its doors on Friday, April 25, after landlord Maggie announced that no new tenants had been found. Speaking to this paper, Gareth said: “We’ve run several pubs over the years. On Friday, August 1, the Rose and Crown will host beloved Wiltshire group the Doghouse Duo. Additionally, on Wednesdays, Gareth says, the Rose and Crown is due to host quiz nights, which will also include ‘open the box’ a key-oriented game designed to spice up a regular quiz-night offering. He added that the pub is dog friendly, and that he was looking to welcoming locals and visitors into the pub.
