Walberswick, across the River Blyth from Southwold, was named among the east of England's best alongside several Norfolk locations. The Times journalist, Chris Halsam, took on a tour of 5,583 miles to decide on the top 50. Walberswick made the list as the "better alternative" to Southwold for its "unspoilt sand and shingle beach". The beach is no stranger to national recognition, as it was also named in The Telegraph's most beautiful beaches ranking at number six.
