Police have recovered the body of a woman and her minor daughter from a house near Ahmedbagh community center under Sabujbagh police station. The deceased were identified as Shantona Begum,26, wife of electrician Mamun and their daughter Mahfuza,2. Being informed by locals around 8am on Tuesday, police broke into the house and found Shantona hanging from the ceiling and Mahfuza’s body lying on the floor. Recently an extramarital affair developed between Shantona’s sister Sarna, who had been staying in their house, and her husband Mamun, Sabujbagh police station Officer-in-Charge Quddus Fakir said. Shantona might have taken her own life after killing her daughter, said the OC.
