All five members of the Vietnamese student team performed well at the 2024 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Iran, winning two gold and three silver medals, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on Sunday. The two gold medals went to Than The Cong and Truong Phi Hung, both of whom are 12th graders at Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students in northern Bac Giang Province. According to the IPhO statutes, each national team may consist of up to five high school students and two leaders. The IPhO has been an annual event for high school students since 1967, with Vietnam participating in the competition for the first time in 1981.
