A UNIVERSITY student has embarked on a charity drive to ensure girls and women in Johor Baru have access to personal hygiene products, including sanitary pads. Universiti Teknologi Mara mass communications student Najihah Mohd Jeffry, 22, has been distributing hygiene kits, filled with items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, laundry detergent, hand sanitiser and face mask to the underprivileged weekly. Since starting on July 8, she has distributed about 160 hygiene kits. “I decided to raise some money from my family so she and her father could buy some food and basic items. “Food assistance alone is not enough as having hygiene products can impact a person’s well- being too,” she said.
