Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Toronto advising of the potential for significant snowfall late Wednesday into Thursday. The advisory, issued on Sunday afternoon, said that Toronto can expect total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres and up to 20 centimetres in some regions. Environment Canada meteorologist Mitch Meredith said that it appears that some of the heaviest snow will start during the afternoon commute. The statement also advised that there may be periods of reduced visibility and rapidly accumulating snow, which could make travel difficult. “It’s just kind of plowing through everybody.”TG Thea Gribilas is a breaking news reporter, working out of the Star’s radio room in Toronto.
