Government advisor on the pandemic, David Hui Shu-cheong, said on Saturday that it is unnecessary for authorities to tighten the city’s Covid rules as most of the infections recently are mild cases. Hui also said he expected the current wave of Covid cases to peak in a week or two. Speaking on a radio program this morning, the Chinese University professor said there's no need to worry about the epidemic situation, saying most infections have been mild, and the public healthcare system has been coping well with the situation. He told the program that he sees no need to tighten the social distancing measures as long as the public healthcare system is still functioning well. Hui also called on children to get their flu jabs as the winter influenza season is fast approaching.
