Early investments in Google helped propel a Cardiff-born academic’s son and former journalist to become the richest Welshman who ever lived. Moritiz, now Sir Michael Moritz, was again named the richest Welshman in this year's Sunday Times Rich List, along with his novelist wife Harriet Heyman. The Welshman went on to become a venture capitalist making his eye-watering fortune on Google's flotation after clever early investments in the late 1990s. After leaving journalism, the Welshman changed careers to work for venture capital firm Sequoia Capital in 1986. In 2015, Moritz went back to words again, this time collaborating with Sir Alex Ferguson on his book, Leading: Learning from Life and My Years at Manchester United.
