The Kenyan Peasants League (KPL) reacted immediately and filled a lawsuit against that decision. The Government appealed the decision, but the Court of appeal sided with the High Court and KPL and left the conservatory measures in place. So, prior to the lifting of the ban on GMOs in Kenya, KPL had already established a Working Group on GMOs that included advocates. Upon the lifting of the ban, KPL quickly called for an emergency meeting and organized a media briefing, where it announced its intention to challenge the lifting of the ban in court. On 31 March, the Court of Appeal decided to maintain the orders until the judgment of the case before the High Court.
