The awards are judged by a panel of News UK’s expert automotive journalists, including The Sun’s Rob Gill, Will Dron from Times Driving, Nick Rufford from The Sunday Times and David Green from LUXX magazine. The 2025 awards also highlighted several notable trends in the UK automotive market. Rob Walsh, Motors Category Director, News UK, said: “The Motor Awards are now a firm fixture in the automotive calendar, celebrating the cars that truly matter to UK drivers. It is hands-down The Sun Car of the Year.”Nick Rufford, The Sunday Times Motoring Editor, said: "Supercars may be more exotic but they don’t deliver everyday thrills at £37,000. It's a rally-bred daily driver, and a very worthy Times Driving Car of the Year."
