Politics of Thursday, 22 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comNPP flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, threatened to halt the party’s peace pact ceremony held on Thursday at the Alisa Hotel, after he openly protested a clause in the document moments before the candidates were to sign. Eyewitnesses at the event said Kennedy Agyapong appeared moody throughout the programme. Even interventions from fellow aspirants, including Dr Bryan Acheampong, could not immediately persuade Kennedy Agyapong to sign. All the party’s presidential aspirants were in attendance, including Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Ing Kwabena Agyepong, Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kennedy Agyapong. Also present were the NPP’s 2024 vice-presidential candidate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and Frank Davies, Chairman of the party’s Legal Committee.
