It brought winds of 124mph and passed within about 60 miles south of Hong Kong, but did not make landfall there. Superstorms are some of the most powerful and destructive natural phenomena on earth and they are getting stronger. As ocean temperatures break all records, theoretical limits to these storms are being ripped up. So just how bad could these superstorms get?
