A female security guard at a Tseung Kwan O residence has been suspended from duty after she refused to open the gate for an ambulance on Wednesday, told paramedics to use another entrance, and cursed at residents who urged her to make way for the ambulance. The male guard then called the control room and told the paramedics to use the entrance by the roundabout near Hang Hau Village. “The paramedics then said the traffic by the roundabout was jammed and would delay their rescue. Chan, on Friday, uploaded the reply from the property management office that said they had already instructed all guards to open the gate for emergency vehicles. The office also said the female guard’s poor attitude that night would be officially on the record and dealt with internally, apart from a verbal reprimand.
