Lou Baddiley, who was waiting in the Ministry for Primary Industries line to declare some food items she had brought from overseas, spotted the stoat nearby. A representative from Biosecurity New Zealand confirmed that the animal was indeed inside the airport. “The airport company has notified us that an animal resembling a stoat or weasel was spotted in the arrivals area by their security cameras last night,” the representative told 1News.
