The witness told the court that she had known the victim ever since they were children. She had met Habesh, whom she recognised in court, through the victim “because he was her partner”. She described the relationship between Habesh and Grech as being typical of a couple who were addicted to drugs. But in spite of this, Grech would tell the witness that she loved Habesh and that they would get along well, she recalled. He asked where Grech was and the witness had informed him that she was in the area near Marsa’s HSBC.
