A domestic dispute allegedly drove 45-year-old Khalilur Rahman to hang himself from a ceiling fan in his home in the municipality's Bank Colony on Monday night, according to police and relatives. His wife Khusbu Rahman said she went to her parents’ house in Dhamrai on Monday after a row with her husband. During the call, he wrapped a rope around his neck and took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan, all while still on the video call. After being notified, police broke down the door of the flat and recovered her husband’s hanging body, she added.
