Salman F Rahman, former advisor to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, has been shown arrested in four cases filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on charges of embezzling bank funds through irregularities and corruption. Prosecutor Mohammad Hafizur Rahman said the commission filed the cases against Salman this year. One case accuses him of taking a loan of Tk 4.96 billion in the name of a fake company, while another alleges he embezzled Tk 340 million and laundered Tk 763.9 million. Following the July Uprising, Salman was arrested from the Sadarghat area of Dhaka on Aug 13, 2024. Salman was later remanded in several cases tied to the mass uprising.
