GILGIT: An SUV ran over six children who were celebrating Eid ul-Fitr in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Ghanche district on Saturday, killing three and injuring three others, according to a rescue official. The incident occurred in Barah Bala village, where the children, dressed in new clothes, were on a road. The out-of-control Skardu-bound Toyota Land Cruiser crushed them while they were going to a nearby shop, according to locals. Last month, a Skardu-bound passenger coaster crashed into a ravine on the Karakorum Highway near Chilas in the Diamer district, killing three and injuring 18. In February, 25 passengers from Gilgit-Baltistan died when a Rawalpindi-bound passenger bus from Ghizer fell into a ravine near Kohistan.
