President William Ruto will address the nation on Friday at 1 pm, State House spokesman Hussein Mohammed said on Thursday. Mohammed, who made the announcement on X, did not give any details about the address. The address will come a day after Ruto chaired a second Cabinet meeting to deliberate on extra measures to mitigate the devastating effects of floods, mudslides and landslides across the country. The Cabinet was briefed on the weather forecast for the next three months, which shows that average to above average rains will continue in all parts of the country. Consequently, flooding is expected in low-lying areas as are landslides and mudslides.
