In light of the planned deployment of Kenyan troops to Haiti, President William Ruto on Friday, June 14, sought support from G7 members. Addressing the high-profile summit, President Ruto emphasised the urgency of deploying troops to the Caribbean nation. He urged G7 member states to increase their support for Kenya as it prepares to send police officers to Haiti. "This is why Kenya calls on the G7 to urgently support the multinational security support mission to Haiti." Speaking at a church service in Nakuru, President Ruto disclosed that the deployment would happen in the next two weeks.
