As far as I know, the effort to ban certain books related to LGBTTQ+ and sexual identity didn’t reference religion. Or, as Todd put it, when it comes to religion and spiritual practice “the range is extraordinary” for Indigenous people in Canada — just like for other Canadians. Indeed, the range of belief, or non-belief, in this country is wide. And now we have a Coat of Arms to represent that range or, at least, not limit it to one religion. Here’s hoping the CBC and all media can find ways to be more mindful about that range, and how they report about the diversity of belief in this country.
