A seven-storey building in Chattogram has “tilted” towards a neighbouring structure following a 5.7-magnitude earthquake. The building, located on Miyabari Road in Mansurabad under Double Mooring Police Station, is owned by former Chattogram City mayor M Manjur Alam. Station chief Babul Azad told bdnews24.com on Friday, “Residents say the seven-storey building, owned by former city mayor Manjur has leaned towards the next building after the quake. Fire officials said the building had a pre-existing tilt but may have shifted further following the tremor, echoing local accounts. Although Dhaka experienced notable damage, Chattogram city has reported no major impact apart from the leaning building.
