A Qantas flight traveling over the Pacific Ocean made a mayday call and reported engine failure. The flight later landed safely at Sydney Airport. Guardian It said in its report that flight radar data showed that the aircraft lost altitude and speed during the flight. A Qantas spokesman said the flight experienced ‘a problem with one of its engines’. Qantas said the Mayday call was initially issued but has now been downgraded to PAN (Possible Assistance Needed) level.
