The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has restricted public entry within 200 yards of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination centres this year. The restriction, enforced under Sections 28 and 29 of the DMP Ordinance, prohibits unauthorised access to the designated zones. The order will remain in force during each exam, covering the full duration of the tests. According to the ordinance, Section 28 allows the police commissioner to regulate public gatherings and the use of sound systems, while Section 29 authorises bans on assemblies or processions to safeguard public order or security. This year’s HSC and equivalent exams will begin on Jun 26, with written tests continuing until Aug 10.
