The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Paul Famba as its new Chief Executive Officer. While confirming the appointment, PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri announced that the commission made the appointment in the exercise of its powers under Section 15(2) of the Public Service Commission Act. "The incoming CEO brings to the Commission a wealth of experience as a career administrator, having served in senior positions in the Government," the PSC Chairperson noted. On April 3, the Commission announced an open vacancy for the position of CEO through an advertisement published by a local daily. “Pursuant to Article 233 (5) and (6) and section 15 (1) and (2) of the Public Service Commission Act, 2017, the Public Service Commission is mandated to appoint a suitably qualified person to be the secretary to the commission through an open, transparent and competitive recruitment process,” read part of the vacancy advertisement.
