Describing their discussion with a special assistant to the chief advisor as “fruitful”, protesting students of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) have said they will decide on resuming classes on Tuesday after meeting with Principal Kamrul Alam. The students, who are protesting over five demands including a solution to the residence crisis, held a detailed discussion with Sayedur. Two other medical colleges will not need halls, and those will be given to Dhaka Medical College. Amid the protests, the authorities declared the closure of Dhaka Medical College on Saturday. After the meeting, the students said that no “assurance” was delivered that their demands would be accepted from the discussion.
