CAIRO – 27 October: Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah al Sisi welcomed on Friday the United Nations General Assembly adopting of Arab Resolution calling for ending violence in Gaza. “I welcome the Arab resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly today to immediately halt violence in Gaza, shared by stability and peace-loving nations.” Sisi wrote on his account on Facebook. He added: “We look forward to stopping violence in Gaza and protecting civilian lives.”Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit said the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution calling for a humanitarian truce in Gaza with a majority of 120 votes reflects the true international. The UNGA adopted the Arab resolution after a total of 120 countries voted in favor of the decision, while only 14 countries voted against it and 45 other countries abstained. The countries that voted against the resolution are Israel, the United States, Austria, Fiji, Guatemala, Croatia, Czechia, Nauru, Paraguay, Marshall Islands, Hungary, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Micronesia.
